Five tribes to unite to back Joy Hofmeister for governor Five of Oklahoma’s largest tribes will publicly endorse Democrat Joy Hofmeister for governor at a press conference in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, a source with knowledge of the plans confirmed to The Frontier. When it comes to energy policy, Hofmeister distances herself from Biden As Joy Hofmeister and Gov. Kevin Stitt shared the stage on Wednesday, Stitt attempted to connect his opponent to Biden’s energy policies. But Hofmeister tried to distance herself from the president, criticizing Biden’s energy “rhetoric.” As Oklahoma faced COVID-19 spikes, state used $30 million to relocate lab Oklahoma officials used millions in federal relief money to cover pandemic-related payroll costs, freeing up other money to move a state lab that has since been plagued with problems. ICYMI: In deep-red Oklahoma, the race for governor is tightening Polls show Gov. Kevin Stitt’s lead is narrowing after an abortion ban backlash and millions in spending on attack ads from outside groups.
