Happy birthday to us!

Eight years down, many more to go

It's hard to believe its been eight years since we launched The Frontier inside a small sub-office in downtown Tulsa.

The eight years since have been a whirlwind - we've covered elections and executions, conducted countless investigations, uncovered fraud and wrongdoing and helped shine a light on Oklahoma while holding the powerful accountable.

The difficulties all news outlets, big and small, face are well known. Newsrooms are downsizing and cost-cutting across the country, not just in Oklahoma.

We're committed to serving Oklahomans not just by providing high-quality in-depth reporting, but by writing stories about under-covered topics and communities.

Interested in supporting our mission? As a nonprofit, your donations to The Frontier are tax-deductible. And they directly support our newsroom, giving our reporters the time and space to do their best work.

Want to become a Friend of The Frontier? There are multiple ways to support our newsroom.

You can give a one-time donation.

You can sign up for a recurring monthly donation.

You can sign up for our newsletters.

You can even buy Frontier merchandise.

Thank you for your support as we continue to grow and provide Oklahoma with the best journalism possible.

Take a look at electric vehicle startup Canoo’s contracts with Oklahoma
Canoo has not yet received any incentive payments from the state, which are contingent on the company meeting hiring goals and other performance measures. Any money would come from Oklahoma’s Quick Action Closing Fund, a pot of state-appropriated cash intended to help the governor to lure new jobs to the state.

Proposed federal rules would put  first limits on ‘forever chemicals’ in Oklahoma’s drinking water
The state now has no enforceable limits on many common man-made chemicals, which have been linked to several types of cancers, developmental problems in children and other negative health effects.

State agencies spend billions in taxpayer funds with little oversight and the numbers are growing, report finds
