Officer charged 

Terence Crutcher's family relieved, resolute in wake of first-degree manslaughter charge
The announcement was made less than a week after Terence Crutcher was shot and killed during an encounter with Tulsa police.

City report finds TPD 'buying rank' violates ethics code, but Bartlett won't investigate
The mayor's remarks come after the chairman of the city's Civil Service Commission said he may ask the city's Human Resources Department to investigate the practice if the Police Department fails to do so.

Opponents of SQ776 gather at the courthouse to oppose putting the death penalty in the state constitution 
If passed, SQ776 would codify the death penalty in Oklahoma’s Constitution, something opponents have argued is both unnecessary and potentially expensive should the measure be passed then later challenged.

Behind the big quake 

Insurers reaped $135 million selling quake policies, paid out $4.5 million
An analysis of data by The Frontier show that of about 1,100 earthquake insurance claims, just 202 residential claims are listed as paid during the past six years. 
 
Larger earthquakes might be on the way for Oklahoma
Leading geoscientists said Wednesday that an earthquake more forceful than the ones already measured may not be out of the question, which could cause more damage across the state.


A regulatory blackhole?
The Environmental Protection Agency has ordered 17 injection wells shut down in the area of Osage County near Saturday's record-setting earthquake. Few details are available because the state lacks jurisdiction there.
