With a thumbs up, Oklahoma executes Jemaine Cannon for 1995 Tulsa murder Cannon was the second person executed by Oklahoma in 2023, and the ninth since the state resumed use of the death penalty in 2021. Two more executions are scheduled this year as the state continues to empty out its death row.
